Compassion exists as an advocate for children: to release them from their spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty; enabling them to become responsible and fulfilled Christian adults.

Sponsoring a child through us is a one-to-one, one by one approach to changing the world and it really works. We take vulnerable children living in extreme poverty and – through sponsors like you – provide them with an escape route from poverty and the means to create a viable future.

Compassion began its ministry in Korea in 1952. Now, over 50 years on, Compassion works in 23 of the world's poorest countries, aiding over 600,000 children through sponsorship.

All Compassion programmes are Christ-centred, church-based and child-focused. Compassion's holistic approach to child development equips individuals physically, socially, and spiritually; empowering them to become adults who can make an impact on the world around them.

Although Compassion's projects are open to those of any, or no faith, each child in Compassion's programme has the opportunity to hear the good news about Jesus. Last year around 80,000 children came to know and accept Christ through Compassion projects.
