Heating a church is a very special problem
Drugasar is a very special company
Drugasar supplies gas-heating solutions for churches, schools and other public buildings. The company produces a range of gas wall heaters that work on their own or as part of a centrally controlled system, using mains gas or propane. Drugasar offers consultation, design, installation and maintenance through its national service network.
Balanced flue heaters
DRU Art Series gas wall heaters use natural convection to draw air from outside the building for combustion and expel waste gases through a flue in the outside wall. There are 9 models with heat outputs from 2 – 10 kW

Case Study:- St Anselm’s Parish Church, Belmont, North London
St Anselm’s is a Grade 2 listed church built in the 1940s during World War 2. Its original Drugasar heaters from the 1950s recently needed replacement.
Thirteen DRU Art 10 models were installed by Drugasar’s own service division in one week. The heaters are connected to a central time switch so they can be operated like central heating. However, they only need to be turned on when the building is in use.
The result: Comfortable, quiet and economical heating for this large and popular church.
Case study:- North Hanwell Baptist Church, Near Ruislip, West London
North Hanwell Baptist Church dates from the 1930s. It has recently undergone a revival in attendance and frequency of use thanks to the efforts of its minister, Rev. Sandra Thwaites.
Old Drugasar E and G series heaters from the 1960s have been replaced with new Art Series models in the main church and church hall.
The heaters are quiet, economical and efficient and are proving highly popular with the churchgoers. The minister also complimented the Drugasar service team on the speed and efficiency of the installation.
Powered Flue Heaters
Drugasar powered flue gas wall heaters use fanned convection to draw air from outside the building and to circulate the warm air, heating up the church quickly and efficiently. There are 9 powered flue models with heat outputs from 1.8 – 16 kW

Case Study:- St Michael and All Angels Parish Church, Rearsby, Leicestershire
There has been a church on this site since 1086 and parts of the present building date back to medieval times. It includes a 13th century marble font and sections of medieval painted glass in the North Side windows.
New Drugasar powered flue gas wall heaters have been installed, replacing older, more dated models. They blend well with the character of the church and provide flexible, economical heating that only needs to be turned on when the building is in use.
Case Study:- The Priory Roman Catholic Church, Woodchester, Gloucestershire
The church was built in 1851 and is on the site of an older Dominican Priory. It is an historic building with many interesting features, including the tomb of a Carmelite bishop, who died here in 1855.
The installation includes a selection of powered flue and balanced flue gas wall heaters in the main church, altar and font areas, with other balanced flue models in the ante-rooms.
It is a good example of a large church using a variety of Drugasar products for the most efficient and economical heating solution.
Central heating, installation and service
Drugasar employs its own national team of CORGI registered gas heating engineers who are fully experienced in all forms of heating systems. As well as gas wall heaters, we can supply and install:
- Boilers and radiators
- Overhead radiant heaters
- Underfloor heating
- Warm air heating

Case Study:- Hockley United Reformed Church, near Southend, Essex
The church is in a 1960s style building, which incorporates the main church, meeting rooms, halls, kitchen and toilets.
Drugasar has undertaken a complete overhaul of the heating system, replacing inefficient overhead electric heaters with a selection of modern balanced and powered flue gas heaters for the church itself and a new ‘wet’ central heating system for the halls, kitchen and toilets.
The central heating radiators include ’cool-touch’ casings for the safety of children using the building. The church is delighted with the quality of the heating system and with the standard of service from Drugasar.
