Breaking the Power of Secularism

An editorial published in the Guardian Newspaper in 2017 states, “Religions are at their most powerful when they are not something people are conscious of believing, but just apparent facts that they assume everyone knows.”.  That states exactly the problem which renders the Church ineffective in our culture today.  Secularism's basic beliefs are assumed to be true in almost every part of our society and protected by massive investment and in some cases by the law of the land.

As a Religious Education Teacher I contended for Secularism and Secular Humanism to be taught as a religion detailing and critiquing its beliefs, practises, morality and impact on society.  Many secularists opposed this motion understanding the truth of the editorial published by the Guardian newspaper.

On my stand I present some of those most basic beliefs showing they are contentious, unsubstantiated and revealing the opposing positions.  The stand information and leaflets available show the same problem affected the people of Israel and Judah leading ultimately to their exile.

Has the Church been exiled in Britain today? Come and be informed.
