Christian Supply Chain Buying Group helping churches and charities make every pound count

A growing number of churches, charities and Christian organisations are discovering how collective purchasing power can help reduce costs and release more resources for ministry and mission.

In a challenging economic climate, where rising costs continue to place pressure on budgets, the Christian Supply Chain Buying Group (CSCBG) is helping organisations across the UK achieve better value through trusted supplier partnerships and exclusive member benefits.

Established in 2014, CSCBG exists to support churches, charities, schools, hospitality venues and Christian ministries by negotiating savings with suppliers and making those benefits accessible to the wider Christian community.

Rather than organisations having to negotiate alone, CSCBG brings members together to create greater purchasing power. Through its growing network of suppliers, members can access discounts and specialist support across a wide range of areas, including catering, utilities, office supplies, insurance, technology, waste management and more.

“Every saving matters”

Rob Harrison, Supply Chain Manager at CSCBG, explains:

“We understand that many churches and charities are facing increasing financial pressures. Our aim is simple — to help Christian organisations reduce their everyday costs so they can release more resources into the work they are called to do.”

“By working together, organisations can benefit from the buying power of a much larger network, while still choosing suppliers that understand their values and needs.”

Supporting Christian ministry beyond savings

CSCBG is the trading arm of Christian Residential Network (CRNet), and any trading surplus is used to support Christian residential ministry and the David Chilcott Fund (DCF), which provides bursary support to enable children and young people to attend Christian residential experiences.

In 2024, the David Chilcott Fund awarded more than £19,000 in bursaries, helping hundreds of children and young people access life-changing residential opportunities.

This means that when members use CSCBG suppliers, they are not only accessing competitive pricing — they are also contributing towards wider Christian ministry.

A trusted network of suppliers

CSCBG continues to develop partnerships with suppliers who share a commitment to supporting the Christian and charitable sectors. Members benefit from negotiated agreements with organisations providing products and services ranging from food and catering equipment to energy consultancy, insurance, office solutions and professional services.

Recent supplier developments include enhanced discounts, new service partnerships and opportunities for members to benchmark costs and identify further savings.

Joining the CSCBG community

Membership is open to churches, charities, schools, theological colleges, conference centres, care organisations and other Christian ministries.

Organisations do not need to change all their existing purchasing arrangements — they can simply use CSCBG suppliers whenever it provides better value.

Rob adds:

“Our vision is to see Christian organisations spending wisely, reducing unnecessary costs and freeing up more resources for mission, outreach and community impact.”
