The future of worship in a rapidly changing world will come under the spotlight at CRE 2026, as internationally recognised worship leader Noel Robinson joins a special panel discussion exploring how the Church can remain rooted in biblical truth while finding a fresh voice for a new generation.

The Worship Panel takes place on Thursday 15 October from 11:00am to 11:45am, bringing together experienced voices to consider how contemporary worship can be shaped by the rich tradition of the Psalms while speaking meaningfully into the realities of life in 2026. Joining Noel for this thought-provoking session will be Dr Lisa Pal from the Diocese of London and Les Moir from Word & Worship Trust.

For thousands of years, the Psalms have provided God's people with a language of praise, lament, thanksgiving and hope. How do we draw on the imagery, vocabulary and creativity of the Psalms while also finding words and metaphors that resonate with modern congregations?

The discussion will also examine the opportunities and challenges created by today's global worship marketplace. Never before have churches had access to such a wide range of high-quality songs, resources and worship movements from around the world.

But what impact does this abundance have on local creativity and expression? Are churches becoming consumers of worship, or can they remain producers of songs and liturgies that emerge from their own communities and experiences?

At CRE 2026, Noel Robinson and fellow panellists will explore how churches can cultivate authentic, locally grown worship while learning from the best of the global Church. Expect a lively conversation about creativity, theology, musical culture and the future sound of Christian worship.
